The Dance Arena symbolize respect for the culture. Please observe the following guidelines when in or around it.

1. Treat the circle with respect. Do not enter unless invited. At no time should you cross it. If you enter, enter and exit from the same point. While inside the Circle, always move in a clockwise direction.

2. Many of the items worn by the dancers are blessed and should not be touched by anyone except the owner or another appropriate person. If you would like to examine an item, please ask permission.

3. If something is dropped into the Circle, please leave it where it lies. Don't touch it.

4. Women must never enter the Dance Circle without a shawl or with their legs bare.

5. Water is the only consumable allowed inside the Circle.

6. The hay bales comprising the Circle are reserved for the dancers dressed in dance regalia. The blankets placed on the hay bales mark the spot of a particular dancer. Please don't sit on someone's blanket unless invited. If you are not dancing, you may bring chairs and sit around the arena Circle behind the hay bales, or sit in the bleachers provided. Please leave a walkway between your chair and the bleacher.

7. Photographs should be taken only with permission of the individual subject. You are welcome to take group pictures, such as intertribal dancing in the Circle, without permission.

8. The Master of Ceremonies will announce who is to dance and when. Please wait for the announcement.

9. During the Flag Song and Honor Songs you are asked to stand and remove your hats to show respect to the American Flag and to those who are being honored.
